How Do I Pray for Others?

 





The Bible tells us that our prayers really can make a difference in the lives of others! There isn’t a secret formula when it comes to prayer. The main ingredients are faith - believing there is hope and that God wants to radically change their lives, and consistency - don’t just pray once or twice…make it a daily habit!

Practical Steps

  • Commit to pray for _________, by name, for the next 30 days. There may be one name in that blank or 3 or 4.

  • Pray for their eyes to be opened.

If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from those who are perishing. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NLT)

  • Pray for God to draw them to Himself.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.

John 6:44 (NIV)

  • Pray for an opportunity to share your faith.

At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, so that I may make it known as I should. Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time.

Colossians 4:3-5 (CSB)

  • Pray for God to give you wisdom.

Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him.

James 1:5 (CSB)

  • Be ready!

…be ready in season and out of season;
