One way you can determine if you have pride in your life is to take a look at your prayer life. If you don’t pray, it’s because you believe you don’t need God. You are saying to God, “I got this without you!”  Praying in its simplest form is just talking with God. You can talk with Him on the way to work, during the day at school, or before you go to bed. It doesn’t matter the time of day as long as you are talking to Him. Remember, pride is the roadblock to personal revival. Pride keeps you from praying. When do you know that you are starting to experience personal revival? You will consistently be praying!

Praying in its simplest form is just talking to God.

Reflect:

  • Why do I find it so hard to pray?  What excuses am I making?
  • Do I consistently spend time talking to God?
  • Do I pray for the needs of others? My family? My church?

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalm 139:23-24)
