Read: Galatians 5:22-23
Ephesians 5:18 says, “Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.” What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit? The word “filled” means to be full of something that takes complete control over you. Paul is commanding us to be constantly full of, moment-by-moment controlled by, the Spirit of God. How do I know if I am full of the Spirit? Look at your fruit!
- Is Jesus the Lord over every part of my life? (Ex. Relationships, Finance, Career, etc.)
- Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to control me every day of my life?
- Is there evidence of the fruit of the Spirit being produced in my life?
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalm 139:23-24)
