Read: 1 Samuel 16:7

Genuine people always seem to be more appealing. There’s something about someone being open and available that pulls you towards them. It has a lot to do with the fact that you can simply be you around them and them not care.

People who follow Jesus should always be themselves. They should quit doing what culture tells them to do and examine themselves. Why do you wear what you wear or speak the way you do? Why do you associate with the group of people that you do? We must let go of what society, our families and friends say is acceptable. As a follower of Jesus our identity is found in Christ, this is where our motivations should come from and we should never hide that part of ourselves.

Let’s get real with people.

Be genuine and be loving. Show people you care and open yourself up.

Reflect:

  1. Think of someone in your life that is genuine.
  2. Do you feel safer around them or more closed off? Why?
